Iargo SpringsIargo Springs are natural springs which were frequented by Native Americans. Steps and overlooks lead through the springs and down to the river. This is a beautiful area with waterfalls and trails which kids will love exploring.
OscodaWith more than 35,000 acres of unique Michigan hiking and cross country skiing trails in and around the Oscoda area, hikers, backpackers, skiers and snowmobilers will find miles of groomed trails to enjoy. Oscoda also offers miles of sandy beaches along Lake Huron, shopping, nightlife and restaurants.

Lumberman's MonumentLumberman's Monument on the Au Sable River features great hands-on activities for children and interesting exhibits for adults showcasing the detailing the heyday of the lumbering industry in Northern Michigan. From here, take one of the many hiking trails with beautiful views of the river.
Tawas Bay AreaTawas City and East Tawas -- "the Tawases" -- are picturesque sister communities on the east coast of Michigan. The quaint area on the shores of Lake Huron's Tawas Bay offers fun and sea and sand to both the residents and year-round visitors.

Corsair TrailsNear Tawas City, the Corsair Ski Trails are nestled in the beautiful Silver Valley area, surrounded by the 120,000 acre Huron National Forest. The 56 kilometers of interconnecting trails cross forest and meadows, hills and valleys. The Corsair Trail Council operates and maintains the Corsair Skiing and Hiking Trail and the Highbanks Trails (both are located in the Huron National Forest).

Snowmobiling and ORVsThe Huron Trail in Iosco County is partially open to ORV’s. It heads west from Oscoda, with a southern stretch heading to Sand Lake. It can be accessed from US-23 or River Road in Oscoda. Both lead to Grass Lake Road, where the trailhead has parking space.
A shorter set of loops is also available off Bissonette Road, west of Oscoda. This trail partially follows the old state snowmobile trails, as well as offering separate trails around Indian Road and Copper Creek Area. |
Ice FishingOur lake is great for ice-fishing and Tawas Bay is conveniently located about 25 minutes away for the dedicated ice-fishing enthusiast!
